Seven people were shot at a house party in Houston, Texas, on the morning of Aug. 17, according to multiple reports.

When police arrived on the scene, they found three people shot at the house. In addition, a few people tried to escape the shooting, but one of the shooters caught up with the car and shot an additional three people, police reported, according to ABC 6. The seventh victim, who was shot in the hand, was found after showing up at the hospital, KHOU 11 reported.

According to the news outlet, the car that chased down the victim’s car was a tan-colored van. After shooting at the escaping car, it drove down the east freeway.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m., located on Mylla Street, which is near Galena Park and Jacinto City, according to ABC 7.

According to Houston Chronicle, the victims were in front of the house when the shooter opened fire. It is not clear what was the cause of the shooting, according to KHOU 11. Officers were told that some of the attendees of the party got into an argument after which people start shooting at each other.

Police said that all seven victims of the shooting received non-life threatening injuries and are expected to survive and recover from the incident, the news outlet reported.

According to police, the gathering was an instant house party and the address and invitation were sent to random strangers on the social media app Snapchat, ABC 7 reported. According to the media outlet, there were about 30 to 50 people who showed up at the party, and the party-goers ranged from teens to young adults.

Neighbors who lived nearby said that they heard about 20 to 25 gunshots coming from the house in question, ABC 7 reported.

One witness said that the seventh victim showed up at the gas station located near the crime scene in distress and calling out for help. The witness, Carlos Ramirez, helped call an ambulance after learning that the victim had been shot in the hand.

According ABC 7, Ramirez said, “I came outside and I heard this lady crying and she was yelling on her phone, so I peeked and looked and the gunshot [sic] was going on. I told her to come inside and wash her hands because you don’t know if the people are still out there.”

In addition to the shooting victims, a nearby car had its window smashed by stray bullets, according to ABC 7.

The tan-colored van did not turn up and police are currently still looking for the car. No one has been arrested so far.
