Chris Pratt proposed to Katherine Schwarzenegger with an exquisite diamond ring after asking for permission from dad Arnold Schwarzenegger and mom Maria Shriver.

“He asked for Maria and Arnold’s blessing and was very traditional about things,” a source told People.

Pratt asked permission from Schwarzenegger’s parents around Christmas. Shriver then helped Pratt propose, according to the Daily Mail.

Pratt posted a photo on Instagram announcing the engagement, on Jan. 14. In the photo, the couple embrace as Schwarzenegger looks at the massive diamond.

“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” Pratt wrote in the caption.

Schwarzenegger posted the same photo, accompanied by the text “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you.”

Page Six reported that Pratt spent six figures on the ring.

“Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center diamond, we estimate the cost of the ring at approximately $150,000 to $250,000 or more,” Kathryn Money, vice president of strategy and merchandising at ring seller Brilliant Earth, told Page Six.

Money added that the ring is an “elongated cushion-cut or oval-shaped diamond in a delicate solitaire setting,” and that the diamond is probably six or seven carats.

“Fancy cut [non-round] gemstones are becoming increasingly popular, and many celebrities including Karlie Kloss and Lea Michele have opted for this particular trend,” Money further added. “Elongated cushion cut and oval shaped diamonds create a flattering look as their shape lengthens the wearer’s finger.”

Pratt is 39-years-old and does the voice for Emmet Brickowski / Rex Dangervest in next month’s “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” according to IMDB. In 2018, he acted in action movies “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Schwarzenegger, 29, is an author of books for young readers, and the daughter of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver.

Even before they started dating, Schwarzenegger was interviewed by Access and asked to choose between three of the famous “Chris” actors: Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, or Chris Hemsworth.

“Chris Evans. Actually, Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt has been looking good lately, so you never know.”

Access posted the throwback interview clip on Jan. 14, the same day the couple made their engagement public.

“Katherine Schwarzenegger should get a crystal ball, because she totally predicted her romance with Chris Pratt an entire year before she met him in a never-before-seen @AccessOnlineinterview! @katherineschwarzeneggerand @prattprattpratt your love was meant to be!” Access captioned the video clip.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger met through Shriver and started dating in June. Pratt was previously married to actress Anna Faris. They share one son together, 6-year-old Jack.

Pratt is scheduled to appear in four other movies: “The Kid,” “Onward,” “Jurassic World 3,” and “Cowboy Ninja Viking.” He is not listed on IMDB for the upcoming Marvel movie “Avengers: End Game,” though a stuntman is listed as playing his and Chris Hemsworth’s stunt double.

The fate of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, where Pratt plays space traveling superhero Star-Lord, is still up in the air and without a set release date on IMDB. The movie derailed due to the firing of director James Gunn after troubling tweets resurfaced last year, The Verge reported.
