NEW YORK—Audience members praised Shen Yun Performing Arts at Lincoln Center on March 10, for its unique qualities and efforts to revive China’s traditional culture.

“It’s great,” said Robert Conzo, Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley. “Very different, unique. I’ve watched a lot of dance shows in the past but this is very, very different. I’ve never seen anything like this. I love it”

“I like how the male dancing parts are very masculine, they’re sharp, they’re almost battle-like in their way,” said Conzo. “Whereas the female parts are incredibly flowing and beautiful. It’s just very unique than seeing European type of dance.”

Shen Yun has the mission to bring back and preserve 5,000 of traditional Chinese culture and history, spanning legends and dynasties.

“I was feeling that it was watching a piece of history that people wouldn’t have normally seen, if it wasn’t brought here,” said Conzo.

“It’s sad that it’s lost, it should be brought back,” he said. “It’s something that everyone should see. Especially people in China who it’s their heritage.”

Commendable Performance

Fernando G. Rosa, president and CEO at HEDCO, felt the production was beautifully orchestrated.

“It was really, really beautiful,” said Rosa. “The producer and all of the artists are to be commended for such a well performed, and a well-done show.”

“They are well trained, they’re individuals that have determination and they have great thoughts of what life is supposed to be all about,” said Rosa. “And something will guide us as we develop through life as we go through life. Whether it is your type of spirituality, or my type of spirituality, there is something above and beyond all of us, that will guide all of our thoughts all of our actions, and in a way will make us connect where we are.”

The storytelling through dance was both compelling and interesting to Rosa.

“It was interesting how the choreography was done to tell me a story,” said Rosa. “And the story was definitely a very very interesting story.”

“It is absolutely important because some of those traditions will make a better society,” he said.

“Look, get out of the house, go see it, the energy is unbelievable, the dancing is absolutely fantastic, and the colors are phenomenal,” said Rosa.
