Wendy Madison Bauer Speaks Out After Perry’s Death

The woman engaged to actor Luke Perry before his sudden death in late February spoke out for the first time over the weekend.

Wendy Madison Bauer, who was among the loved ones at Perry’s bedside when he died on Feb. 27, said she was thankful for the love and support following Perry’s death.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time,” she said in a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

“The past 11 and a half years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him. I also want to thank his children, family, and friends for their love and support. We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed.”

Perry and Bauer rarely appeared in public and many outside their families and close friends didn’t know about the relationship despite them reportedly being together for over 10 years.

Perry, 52, divorced from Rachel “Minnie” Sharp in 2003; the couple had two children together, Jack, 21, and Sophie, 18.

Perry and Bauer, 44, didn’t have any children together.

Bauer was with Jack, Sophie, and Sharp at Perry’s bedside at the hospital when he died following a stroke, along with other family members and friends.
