The Mandarin duck who has made himself at home in Central Park swam away his first snow day with his friends, as a winter storm hit New York City and other parts of the Tri-State Area on Thursday, November 15.

“Snow is falling in Central Park for the first time this season and the Mandarin duck seems to love it as much as we do!” the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation wrote on Facebook as it shared a live video of the famous duck.

A day earlier, the department tweeted footage that showed the duck frolicking in the sunshine, “enjoying this beautiful fall day at The Pond!”

The rare duck, which is native to East Asia, became a major attraction for New Yorkers and tourists alike since it mysteriously appeared in Central Park in early October.
