The Arizona Supreme Court ruled to uphold a law from 1864, banning nearly all abortions from the moment of conception. The decision is on hold for 14 days while a lower court considers its constitutionality. The Arizona Attorney General said she wouldn’t enforce the law.

The parents of Michigan high school shooter Ethan Crumbley were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. In a landmark case, Jennifer and James Crumbley became the first parents sentenced over a school shooting committed by their child in the United States.

Senate Republicans asked House Speaker Mike Johnson to delay sending impeachment articles against Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. They said they’re concerned the Senate Democrats will move quickly to dismiss the case. Mr. Johnson agreed to send them next week instead of Wednesday, as previously scheduled.

Former President Donald Trump’s trial in the “hush-money” case is set to begin with jury selection next Monday, despite repeated attempts to delay it. Meanwhile, the judge also denied President Trump’s challenge to the gag order against him.
