Former “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans is fighting for custody of her child after child protective services took him away two weeks after her husband, David Eason, shot her dog in front of his step-son.
According to multiple sources, Evans’s 4-year-old son, Kaiser, is currently at his biological father’s place. On May 10, child protective services “authorized a family member to get Kaiser from his daycare,” a source told The Ashley, which broke the story. TMZ also reported that Kaiser was taken from Evans’s home on Friday and is currently staying with his father, Nathan Griffith.
Griffith has been fighting for custody of Kaiser for over a year, after alleging that Evans took drugs during her pregnancy, according to Us Weekly. On April 30, Griffith contacted the Columbus County Sheriff’s department to request a welfare check on his son.
“The male caller referenced making sure his son was safe because his ex-fiancée’s husband shot a dog in front of him,” a public information officer told People magazine.
After the call, the police showed up to check on the boy, but left after determining he was safe.
“I guess there was a dispute with my ex-fiancée and her husband and he shot a dog. And there’s been multiple 911 calls of abuse,” Griffith told the police, according to Us Weekly. “And I’m just trying to figure out where my son’s at and what I should do in this situation right now. I’m just so confused right now … I just want to make sure my son is safe.”

Eason allegedly shot Evans’s dog, Nugget, after it bit their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley, in the face, according to the report.
On May 1, Eason posted a video to his Instagram story of the dog snapping at Ensley’s face. “I don’t give a [expletive] what animal bites my baby on the face… whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I don’t put up with that [expletive] at all,” he wrote in the video, according to People magazine. “I’m all about protecting my family, it is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge whether or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

Later that same day, Evans confirmed the death of her dog in an Instagram post.
“Nugget … I’m crying everyday. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me. You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed… you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back,” she wrote, adding the hashtags #heartbroken and #distraught.
Meanwhile, Evans said she is “fighting to get my son back.”
“Kaiser was taken away Friday without my consent, before Mother’s Day, and I have been in touch with my lawyer pertaining this matter,” she told Us Weekly.
“Kaiser was taken from his daycare by his grandmother [Nathan Griffith’s mother, Doris] with no notice or call to me,” she added. “Child protective services told Doris to take Kaiser without my consent and still have no legal paperwork signed by the judge stating my kids are taken from me.”
Following reports that Eason shot and killed their dog, Evans was fired from MTV’s “Teen Mom 2” show.
“She is very grateful and appreciative of the opportunity MTV have given her and her family for the last 10 years. It is sad to part ways in this matter but this isn’t the end of Jenelle Evans or her family,” a representative told People magazine on May 7.
