Residents of Tensta, a Stockholm suburb, are calling for solidarity after the attack in the city center.
Tensta is home to a large number of immigrants.
“I hope for a united Sweden. I hope that we can look ahead after this tragic incident,” said Yonis Egag, a Tensta resident. “I personally don’t feel a finger pointing at me, but people here might have those feelings, absolutely.”
Ewa Von Wowern and Rosemary Andreasson have started a Facebook group called Women who have coffee, to bring people together, especially women, after a tragedy occurs.
“Our goal is to reduce the distance between people, especially on a day like today, the day after what happened yesterday, and to reduce the distance between us women in particular, who are given a hard time around the world,” said Wowern.
On April 7, a driver drove a truck through a busy shopping street before crashing into a department store. Four people were killed and 15 were injured.
