Despite all the hate critics are throwing at him, Tim Tebow still had an inspirational response for the haters.

Florida Heisman winner Tim Tebow has had to deal with critics throughout his days as an athlete. People said he’d never make it in the NFL, and that his move to baseball with the Mets wouldn’t last either.

When reporters asked Tebow, 31, at the Mets spring training how he felt about those who don’t like him, his response has since gone viral.

“It’s really about keeping perspective and not letting other people define you because they sure do want to,” he said. “Shoot, I try to encourage young people all the time to not let the world or outside sources define you because you are always going to have critics and naysayers and people that are going to tell you that you won’t, that you can’t, that you shouldn’t. Most of those people are the people that didn’t, that wouldn’t, that couldn’t.”

“Don’t be defined by outside sources. You go after your dreams,” he continued. “Succeeding or falling is not making it to the bigs or it’s not necessarily fulfilling that. It’s having to not live with regret because I didn’t try.”

He also had a message to all the young people: “I just feel for all the young people who don’t go after something because they are so afraid of failing that you are going to live with a lot more regret than if you would’ve if you tried and you failed. I’m very passionate about that.”

Tebow then expounded on why people might not go after something.

“I think the reason people don’t go after things is because how much you will be criticized,” he said. “What if I fall flat on my face? Fear and doubt and all these things creep in. I just don’t believe that’s the healthiest way to live. I don’t want to have to live with fear or doubt every day, regardless of what everybody here says about me.”

“It doesn’t define me,” he said. “I’m so grateful that doesn’t define me. There’s one thing that defines me, that’s what God says about me. Besides that, I get to go live out my dreams and help as many people along the way as possible.”

By Wednesday, Feb. 20, the video of Tebow’s response already had over 4.8 million views.

This isn’t the first time Tebow has made an inspirational speech. In 2008, his college speech after the Florida Gators lost to the Ole Miss Rebels is widely considered one of the greatest football speeches ever.

Tebow’s “The Promise” speech inspired the Gators to win their final eight regular-season games and beat out Oklahoma for the BCS national championship.

Earlier this year, Tebow made headlines when it was announced on social media that he is getting married to former Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel-Peters.

On Jan. 10, he posted photos of himself on one knee and Nel-Peters, of South Africa, who appears to be wearing the engagement ring.

“Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Nel-Peters also posted on Instagram, captioning her photos, “Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you!”
